Day 10 - Trenton, ME (Day 3)

This was Acadia N.P. day.  Traffic blocked many of the viewpoints.

The Route
We took ME-3 south to the Hulls Cove (northern) Entrance of the park and drove every park road except the Seal Harbor leg which went from the Park Loop Road to the Stanley Brook Entrance and back.

About the Day
It was sunny and calm all day.  The temperature reached a high of 70°.

Along the Way
We stopped at Log Cabin Restaurant for breakfast and picked up instructions that would have helped last night.

Park Loop Road took us by Sieur de Monts, Sand Beach, Thunder Hole, Fabbri, Otter Point, Seal Harbor, Jordan Pond House, and Cadillac Mountain.  Traffic congestion kept us from stopping at all but three places.
We saw a lot of this, often hiding signs
prohibiting parking on the berm.

Cadillac Mountain was the highlight ... literally and figuratively.
Near Thunder Hole
Otter Cove

Heading up Cadillac Mountain
Traffic jam at the top.
Views from the top.
Views while heading back down are pretty cool, too.
This motorcycle group was from Quebec
and probably consisted of 50 trikes and bikes.

Travel Trivia
What do you get when you combine a beautiful day with a holiday weekend?  LOTS of traffic!

We travelled 32 miles in Acadia N.P. in about 3½ hours today.

The Campground
Timberland Acres RV Park continues to be a great place to stay.  Their internet is the fastest we've seen.

Tomorrow
We're going to take National Geographic's Scenic Deer Isle Drive on the way to Boothbay, ME.  There's no way the GPS trip estimate will match the actual drive.
